NOSTOS; ΝΟΣΤΑΛΓΊΑ
In contemporary society, the concept of time serves as a fluid and multifaceted entity. Generational disparities further contribute to the whims of human desire, shifting between the yearning for time to move faster, and the wish for time to move slower. Nostalgia creates a parallel reality, one run by emotion rather than reason. “Nostalgic experience” is an interplay between memory and perception; the nostalgic mind is a complex terrain of subjective recollections and interpretations which connects with one’s own past, present, and future. It is far from acting as a static repository, but it does as such as a dynamic energy that shapes one’s perception of reality, inviting the latter to explore individuals‘ recollections, reinterpretations, and reconstruction of their personal narratives.
